The three branch-chained essential amino acids cannot be produced by the body itself, but must be supplied through one’s diet. Amino acids are the building blocks of the protein and are of essential importance for muscle development. Leucine is primarily involved in the development and preservation of musculature, while valine and isoleucine promote energy supply to muscle cells.

The main advantage of the BCAAs is their fast availability right after consumption, due to the absorption of the individual ingredients that is already beginning in the stomach.
